Removing Scratches from Cement Tiles With Titan Tile US

Removing Scratches from Cement Tiles With Titan Tile US

Titan Tile US cement tiles are durable, but occasional scratches can occur. Fortunately, most surface scratches can be easily buffed out. This is due to the unique manufacturing process where pigment is integrated throughout the tile, not just a surface layer.

  1. Locate Scratches: Carefully identify all scratches. They’re more visible on darker colors.

  2. Gather Supplies: Obtain an electric sandpaper buffer (for best results) and 220-grit sandpaper.

  3. Use 220-Grit Sandpaper: This grit gently removes scratches without damaging the tile.

  4. Wet the Tile: Wet the tile before sanding to prevent dust and act as a lubricant.

  5. Gently Buff: Gently buff the tile until the scratch disappears. Take breaks to monitor progress.

  6. Add Water as Needed: Add water to wash away debris and prevent sandpaper clogging.

  7. Rinse and Wipe: Rinse and wipe the tile clean after buffing.

  8. Observe Results: The scratch should be gone.

  9. Allow to Dry: Let the tiles dry completely (24-48 hours) before resealing.

  10. Reseal: Reseal the tiles with a suitable sealer (Titan Tile US recommends a high-quality sealer) to protect against future scratches and spills.
